Hammond Regional Arts Center opens two new exhibitions featuring local artists
HAMMOND — The Hammond Regional Arts Center invited residents to the opening of two new art exhibitions on Friday.
The 64th Annual Hammond Art Guild Open, Judged Exhibition will open in the HRAC Main Gallery alongside the Canned Art: Illustrations of Gnarly Barley Brewing by KC Coppock in the HRAC Mezzanine Gallery.
The Hammond Art Guild's annual judged exhibition is a celebration of creativity across a variety of mediums featuring oils, acrylics, photography, ceramics, and mixed media. The exhibition will be judged by Judy Starrett.
“The Hammond Art Guild’s annual exhibition is always an incredibly vast showcase of the talent of our local artist community,” says Melissa Griffin, HRAC’s executive director.
KC Coppock's artwork has defined the visual identity of Gnarly Barley Brewing for more than a decade, beginning in 2014 as a creative collaboration before growing into a body of work spanning hundreds of illustrations, characters and can designs.
“We’re glad to get the opportunity to spotlight a local artist who is making a significant visual arts impact in that business sector at the same time. KC Coppock’s artwork is helping create a connection between the brand and consumers, proof of the important role a human artist plays in branding, in contrast to AI-generated artwork.”
The free exhibitions will open on Friday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., with both exhibitions remaining on view through Nov. 5. Gallery hours are Wednesday through Friday from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.
