Ascension Parish Public Schools visited by special guests Wednesday morning
PRAIRIEVILLE — State education leaders are traveling across Louisiana to see what is happening inside schools firsthand.
The Bridging to Success 2.0 Tour is bringing together members of the Louisiana Board of Elementary and Secondary Education, parish superintendents and school board members to learn what is working in classrooms and career programs and what is not.
The tour made a stop in Ascension Parish, where the group visited Prairieville High, Central Primary and Dutchtown High schools.
Leaders walked the buildings and met with students, teachers and school faculty during the visit.
"The best place to be is on the ground. Boots on the ground. So we can listen to the people who are the administrators of the policies we incorporate and hearing first hand what they like, don't like and what they would do differently," BESE President Simone Champagne said.
