ST. FRANCISVILLE — West Feliciana Parish Sheriff Brian Spillman announced Thursday that a search warrant was issued for a home connected to Thomas Morris, who was initially arrested for kidnapping in July and later named a person of interest in two other local disappearances. 

Morris, 43, was initially booked in July on charges of second-degree kidnapping and false imprisonment after deputies received a call on July 19 saying that Morris was allegedly holding a woman against her will. Spillman said that Morris befriended the woman in Montana and that she was taken against her will to a home on Morris Road in St. Francisville "where she was not allowed to leave and not allowed access to her cell phone."

Morris was then taken into custody, and the woman was brought to a safe location. He remains in jail on a $500,000 bond.

After Morris' arrest, Sheriff Brian Spillman said he was also a person of interest in the disappearance of both Stephanie Hevia and Madison Allen.

Spillman said that, in the months since Morris was named a person of interest, enough evidence was procured to obtain a warrant to search the Morris Road home where they believe they will find evidence, including human remains, that would connect Morris to Allen and Hevia's deaths. 

"There's a highly likely possibility that these two ladies could be located on that property," Spillman said.

The sheriff said that the "slow, methodical and thorough search" of the property will encompass about 15 acres and require 10 federal, state and local agencies working together to conduct. He said the search could take up to a week to complete.

When asked if the women's deaths could be categorized as the acts of a serial killer, Spillman was not ready to give a definitive answer at the start of the search. 

"If we find what we expect to find on this property, I think that definition fits, but we're not at that point yet," Spillman said about Morris being an alleged serial killer. "If this search reveals what we anticipate it may reveal, I think that is a fair definition of what we're dealing with."

"Real Life Real Crime" podcaster and former Louisiana State Police employee Woody Overton has been looking into Morris for years and told WBRZ that through his own investigation, mostly fueled by tips from his listeners, Overton believes even more victims could be tied to Morris.
