DONALDSONVILLE — The Ascension Consolidated Utility District has issued a boil water advisory following a major water line break in Modeste.

Customers in the affected area, which includes La. 405 from La. 1 north to Brou Road, may experience low water pressure or a temporary interruption of water service while crews work to isolate the break and make the necessary repairs. 

As a result, residents are asked to boil water for one full minute before drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, preparing food, rinsing foods or using water for fountain drinks.

"This advisory will remain in effect until rescinded by Parish Utilities. Please continue to boil your water until you are officially notified that the advisory has been lifted," officials said.
