GONZALES - Two people were killed in a double homicide on East Caldwell Street, the Gonzales Police Department confirmed.

Officials said that they are actively investigating, with updates being provided as details become available.

Gonzales Mayor Tim Riley said the suspect fled in a vehicle, and that deputies are out with the suspect vehicle on Brigantines Avenue in Prairieville.
