BATON ROUGE - EBR Schools issued a statement about a "video circulating on social media" showing a fight at Scotlandville High School.

Officials said the students involved in the fight were disciplined "in accordance with the district’s Student Rights and Responsibilities Handbook and established procedures."

"EBR Schools does not condone violence of any kind," the statement said. Officials also said that the school and district are taking steps to provide more supervision, counseling support and resources to the school community.

"We recognize that tensions stemming from incidents over the summer have carried into the school year," the statement said. "We are actively working with school leadership, students and staff to address these concerns, prevent further conflict and ensure Scotlandville remains a safe, supportive and welcoming environment for every student."
