East Baton Rouge 4-H members win state title and receive $1,000 grant to train youth
Dallas, Tx. — Several members from Zachary High School's 4-H Club won a state title alongside a $1,000 grant to train younger teams.
Three students helped Louisiana finish fifth at the National 4-H Food Challenge in Dallas, competing against teams representing 13 other states.
The team consisting of Amari Barber, Ella Hebert, Madison Franks and Abigail Harr qualifies as freshmen after winning Louisiana's state competition and receiving grand champion honors in the high school division, beating more than 100 other teams.
This year, the students secured a $1,000 grant from Youth Service America to design and deliver Food Challenge training for younger participants, resulting in the training of four new elementary and middle school teams in East Baton Rouge.

The group also led a service project which produced 60 healthy meals and collected 150 pounds of food for local pantries.
