BATON ROUGE - First-year tigers are moving onto Louisiana State University's campus Friday through Sunday!
Overall, LSU's Baton Rouge campus features more than 20 on-campus living quarters and first-year students are required to live on campus.
Second-year and above students move in on Aug. 22 and 23.
WBRZ spoke with LSU Director of Residential Life Pete Trentacoste, who says, "On move-in day, it's always, 'bring your patience' is the first thing I say. The good news is that because of the way we lay out the process, if they follow all the amazing instructions our communications team has put out there, they're going to be just fine. They're going to come to campus and find where they need to go."
Move-in day must-haves include choosing an arrival appointment, knowing your room details, getting familiar with routes to campus buildings, and making sure you have your everyday necessities.
"Be willing to stretch yourself and get to meet other folks," Trentacoste said. "At the end of the day, we all have the same goal in mind; we want students to be successful. If someone is feeling unsure, they're asking, 'Do I fit here? Do I belong here?' They absolutely belong here. Just reach out, and we're happy to connect with them."
