BATON ROUGE - While all three sets remained close throughout, Southern Volleyball took their first SWAC loss of the season, falling to Grambling 3-0 and 4-10 on the season.

Sereniti Johnson led the way offensively for Southern with the team lead in kills with 11. Braelynn Reese was second on the team with five.

For Grambling, Angelique Pena had eight kills, while Kenya Lucas and Lyric Jordan both had seven.

After the loss to the Tigers, Southern sits at 1-1 in SWAC play. The Lady Jags had won their conference opener against Arkansas-Pine Bluff 3-2. Their next game is against Prairie View A&M on Friday, Oct. 7.
