BATON ROUGE - With so many games getting pushed from Friday to Thursday due to the impending weather, it was a busier night than expected, with six more games added to the Thursday night slate.

In one of the moved contests, East Ascension took down Prairieville 43-21 as the Spartans move up to 5-1 on the season with a 3-0 record in district play. With the loss, Prairieville falls to 2-4. The Hurricanes have dropped their last three games, with all of them coming against district opponents.

Dutchtown, who handed Prairieville their second district loss last week, went on a road trip to Live Oak to take on the Eagles and won 44-18.

The two-QB system of Ethan Odom and Brock Black continues to work wonders. Both signal callers got involved in the run game, and both found the end zone on the ground.

The Griffin defense kept the Eagles grounded throughout the evening. Live Oak wide receiver Cash Davis got his share of touches in the passing game, but Live Oak's passing attack, especially downfield, was very limited throughout the night. The loss drops Live Oak to 2-4 and 0-2 in district play.

Dutchtown, meanwhile, has won back-to-back games to open their district schedule and sits at 5-1 on the season. These last two wins come after losing starting quarterback Owen Fletcher to injury in their loss to Walker.
