BATON ROUGE - An annual Oktoberfest celebration is happening this weekend to celebrate German culture and support the Louisiana Restaurant Association Education Foundation.

The event is scheduled from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 18, at Walk-On's Sports Bistreaux on Burbank Drive.

It will include German-inspired food, drinks, music and games. A stein-holding competition will be held with heats throughout the event.

Roughly 7% of Louisiana's population is German, with more than 300,000 residents living in the state.
