Expect another sweltering day on Tuesday as temperatures push into the upper 90s. High humidity will make that feel as high as 112°F, so another heat advisory has been issued. If you're planning on being outside, drink plenty of water and take frequent breaks.

Today & Tonight: Tuesday is shaping up to be another scorcher. Expect bright sunshine to drive temperatures up to 90° by noon, maxing out near 97° by late afternoon. A Heat Advisory will be active from 12 PM to 7 PM, with feels-like temperatures topping 108° during peak hours. Drink plenty of water, take it easy outside, and know what heat exhaustion looks like. If you feel off, don't try to tough it out, get into the A/C right away. By late afternoon or evening, an outer band from Tropical Storm Bertha off to our east in the Gulf could swing through, offering a brief pop-up thunderstorm to break up the heat. The Tropics: On Monday evening, NOAA Hurricane Hunters confirmed tropical-storm-force winds, officially making Bertha the second named storm of the 2026 Atlantic season. Max winds have since ticked up slightly to 50 mph, but with limited time over water, significant strengthening is unlikely. While it's currently crawling, the storm is expected to pick up speed toward the west by midweek, putting the Louisiana coastline right in its path. Outer rainbands could roll in as early as Tuesday afternoon and stick around off and on through Thursday.

Current guidance shows the storm tracking south of I-10, sliding along the coastline or staying just offshore. That's good news for inland communities, where the Storm Station team expects fairly minimal impacts. Moderate wind shear is playing a big role here as it's capping the storm's intensity and making it lopsided, pushing most of the heavy rain and wind on the southern side of the system. Because of this, coastal areas are most at risk for minor surge, localized flooding, gusty winds, and heavy downpours, so keep an eye out for tropical alerts.
